Uzbekistan has recently adopted a milestone Law on Combating Trafficking in Human Beings

As a member of UN Human Rights Council for 2021-2023 Uzbekistan has recently adopted a milestone Law on Combating Trafficking in Human Beings which is a remarkable step taken by the Uzbekistan’s Government to protect its citizens, in particular, ensuring freedom from slavery and forced labor. The new bill has assured that social rehabilitation & adaptation of victims of human trafficking shall be carried out at the expense of the state budget, any information on victims of trafficking as well as security measures taken to protect them, will not be disclosed.
